About the Climate Smart Summit 2026
ABOUT THE CARIBBEAN CLIMATE-SMART ACCELERATOR
The organisation behind the summit.
The Caribbean Climate-Smart Accelerator is a regional initiative dedicated to accelerating the transition to climate-smart economies across the Caribbean. Through data, convening power, and strategic partnerships, CCSA works with governments, the private sector, and civil society to turn climate commitments into measurable, fundable, and replicable action.
At the heart of this work is the Climate Smart Map — a living, interactive record of climate-smart initiatives across the region. It is not a wish list. It is evidence. Evidence that the Caribbean is already building what the world needs, and that the infrastructure for scale exists.
The Climate Smart Summit is the next step. It is where the Map comes to life in a room.

WHY THE CARIBBEAN
The Caribbean did not choose to be at the frontline of climate change. But it has chosen what to do about it.
For decades, the region has absorbed the full force of a crisis it did not create — and responded not with resignation, but with ingenuity. Small island states have had to move faster, think differently, and build more creatively than almost anywhere else on earth. That pressure produced capability. And that capability is now the Caribbean's most undervalued competitive asset.
The rest of the world is catching up to what the Caribbean already knows: that resilience is not defensive. It is competitive. That vulnerability, navigated well, produces the kind of leadership the world is actively looking for.
WHY NOW
The global climate transition is no longer a future event. It is already underway — and it is accelerating.
Capital is moving. Technologies are scaling. Markets are reconfiguring. Alliances are being redrawn. And in this environment, the organisations and nations that move with clarity and conviction will shape what the transition looks like for everyone else.
Small states have a structural advantage here. Their size allows speed. Their exposure demands ingenuity. Their networks — built on trust, proximity, and shared stakes — are exactly the kind of multipliers a fractured world is seeking.
The question is no longer whether the Caribbean belongs in this conversation. It is whether the conversation can afford to happen without it.
This summit exists to make sure it doesn't.

WHY THIS SUMMIT
The Climate Smart Summit was not created to add another event to the calendar. It was created to close a gap.
The gap between ambition and allocation. Between projects that already exist and the capital that has not yet found them. Between the progress the Caribbean is making and the visibility that progress deserves.
Over two days in Barbados, the summit moves from recognition to resource. It opens with an Investor Forum connecting entrepreneurs building the next generation of climate solutions with investors ready to fund them. Selected climate smart projects will present directly to capital in the room.
From there, the summit moves into real time action. Leaders, investors, and innovators will work through barriers together while showcasing what the region is already getting right, before advancing into the policy and finance conversations that determine what gets built next.
The inaugural Climate Smart Awards will formally recognise the region’s climate leaders across national leadership, corporate innovation, financial creativity, community resilience, and entrepreneurial excellence.
This is not a summit about what might be possible. It is about what is already happening and how to move faster.
