Speaker Bio
Philip Julien is an energy entrepreneur and the founder of Kenesjay Group of Companies, focused on advancing clean energy solutions across the region. Through KGC, he has been at the forefront of clean hydrogen development in the Caribbean, including the company’s flagship NewGen Energy project, a US$250 million low-carbon hydrogen initiative in Trinidad and Tobago being developed in partnership with HDF Energy.
Philip is also supporting the exploration of geothermal energy opportunities, while continuing to champion public-private partnerships as a key driver of the region’s energy transition. His work reflects a strong belief that the Caribbean has both the resources and the responsibility to shape its own sustainable energy future.
A graduate of McGill University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Minor in Environmental Engineering, Philip has held senior roles in environmental and process engineering, including leadership positions at WorleyParsons.
He is also engaged with the United Nations Environment Programme as the Hydrogen Specialist for Trinidad and Tobago, with a remit that includes supporting a regional approach to the green hydrogen economy across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Beyond his work in energy, Philip founded the Heroes Foundation in 2002, an organisation dedicated to youth development in Trinidad and Tobago. His career brings together entrepreneurship, technical expertise, advocacy and community service, positioning him as an important voice in the Caribbean’s move toward a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
