Across the Caribbean, people are building climate solutions.
Restoring ecosystems. Cutting emissions. Strengthening resilience from the ground up. Advancing practical solutions to some of the region's most urgent climate challenges.
The inaugural Climate Smart Awards recognise the individuals, organisations, and initiatives driving measurable climate impact across the Caribbean — elevating practical, scalable work already making a difference across the region.
Taking place as part of the Climate Smart Summit (CSS 2026), the Awards spotlight climate leadership across adaptation, mitigation, ecosystem resilience, innovation, community action, and youth leadership.
WHAT THE AWARDS ARE DESIGNED TO DO
The Climate Smart Awards were created to:
- Recognise outstanding climate leadership across the Caribbean
- Elevate scalable and replicable regional solutions
- Strengthen visibility for impactful projects and initiatives
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the region
Winners will be recognised live at the Climate Smart Awards Ceremony during the Climate Smart Summit, June 16–17, 2026 in Bridgetown, Barbados.
AWARD CATEGORIES
Recognising projects addressing climate adaptation challenges with measurable impact on communities or ecosystems.
Recognising projects reducing greenhouse gas emissions in alignment with national or regional targets.
Recognising nature-based solutions that restore ecosystems and enhance resilience.
Recognising innovative technologies and solutions with strong potential forclimate impact and scalability.
Recognising community organisations, institutions, and leaders driving climate action at the grassroots level.
Recognising youth-led or youth-focused initiatives advancing climate resilience, innovation, and engagement.
WHO CAN NOMINATE?
Nominations are open to individuals, organisations, businesses, community groups, educational institutions, and innovators across the Caribbean.
You may nominate:
- Your own project or initiative
- Your organisation
- A partner organisation
- A colleague, peer, or community leader
Eligible submissions must:
- Be beyond the concept stage
- Be actively in implementation
- Demonstrate measurable progress within the last two years
ABOUT THE SELECTION PROCESS
Winners are selected through a structured evaluation process led by an independent panel of judges. All submissions are assessed on impact, innovation, scalability, implementation effectiveness, and alignment with regional climate priorities.
Winners are notified before the event. The official announcement and public recognition take place live at the Climate Smart Awards Ceremony on June 17.
